National Glazed Spiral Ham Day: More
Tomorrow's food holiday will be 'National Glazed Spiral Ham Day'.
[The Hankster says] It does keep me from making those funny looking chunks when I try to carve. It prevents, sort of a second butchering.
I hope you Got 'er Done or Got 'er Extended. Tomorrow is 'National Tax Day'. In the U.S., income tax filings are due for Americans living within the U.S. It may be June 15 for some currently living outside the U.S. Tax Day was March 1 in 1913, March 15 in 1918 and April 15 beginning in 1955. When April 15 falls on a Friday, tax returns are due the following Monday; when April 15 falls on a Saturday or Sunday, tax returns are due the following Tuesday.
Tomorrow is 'National Take a Wild Guess Day'.
[The Hankster says] What, has the I.R.S. reviewed my tax statement already? For the rest of you, feel free to just give a try on any ole subject. I'm thinking of a number.
Tomorrow, you get another try, well for anything written on paper with a pencil. It will be 'National Rubber Eraser Day'. In 1970, Joseph Priestly developed a vegetable gum to remove pencil marks. He gave it the name rubber.
[The Hankster says] Couldn't have done my taxes without him.
Today we mentioned that the Titanic hit an iceberg at 11:40 PM on the 14th. It sank 2 hours and 40 minutes later on the 15th at 2:20 am. Tomorrow we remember the 1,490
to 1,635 lives that were lost and the mere 720 that were saved. Tomorrow is 'National Titanic Remembrance Day'.
If you can't get to a library tomorrow, maybe it will come to you. It will be 'National Bookmobile Day'. Not the same day each year.
'That Sucks Day' tomorrow, speaks for itself. Highlighting Tax day and other events that occur on this day (Titanic sank, President Lincoln died.)
It's OK to think small. Tomorrow's 'Microvolunteering Day' reminds us that small things that you can do to help others do help.
[The Hankster says] If you can't save the world or even a life, you may be able to do something to make the world or a person a little better, and that is a big thing.
'Jackie Robinson Day' is tomorrow. It commemorates the day Jackie Robinson made his major league debut. He was the first African-American man to do so.
Awareness days tomorrow:
- 'World Art Day'. On Leonardo da Vinci's Birthday
- 'World Day of Culture'. Commemorates the adoption of the 'Roerich Pact' in 193. From Wikipedia: 'The Roerich Pact is an inter-American treaty on the Protection of Artistic and Scientific Institutions and Historic Monuments.'
Leo Tolstoy once wrote 'The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.'.
[The Hankster says] Well, if you have read this far, you must have patience. So, let me do my part and send us back through time. We will stop at April 15 in several years.

April is:
April origin (from Wikipedia):
'The Romans gave this month the Latin name Aprilis but the derivation of
this name is uncertain. The traditional etymology is from the verb aperire,
'to open', in allusion to its being the season when trees and flowers begin
to 'open', which is supported by comparison with the modern Greek use of
(anoixis) (opening) for spring. Since some of the Roman months were named
in honor of divinities, and as April was sacred to the goddess Venus, her
Veneralia being held on the first day, it has been suggested that
April was the second month of the earliest Roman calendar, before
Ianuarius and Februarius were added by King Numa Pompilius about 700 BC.
It became the fourth month of the calendar year (the year when twelve
months are displayed in order) during the time of the decemvirs about
450 BC, when it also was given 29 days. The 30th day was added during
the reform of the calendar undertaken by Julius Caesar in the mid-40s BC,
which produced the Julian calendar.'
April
'is commonly associated with the season of spring in parts of the
Northern Hemisphere and autumn in parts of the Southern Hemisphere,
where it is the seasonal equivalent to October in the
Northern Hemisphere and vice versa.'
