National Parfait Day : More
Tomorrow's Food holiday will be 'National Parfait Day'. This French delight was created in France in the 1800's. Parfait, means perfect in French.
[The Hankster says] At last a French creation that we all love and actually is from France, instead, like so many, made by a French chef, in America. I would have put the holiday in the summer months, but ice cream is good any time. One thing only, don't forget the cherry on top.
We have an awareness day tomorrow. It is 'International Day For the Elimination of Violence Against Women Day'.
Are you counting? This says it all 'Shopping Reminder Day'. Christmas is only 30 days away.
[The Hankster says] Once again this year, I will be sending out a mass mailing which will contain my wish list.
Tennessee Williams once said 'Time is the longest distance between two places.'
[The Hankster says] Applying the 'Are we there yet?' principle to time, we can say 'yes', if at least one event is in the past and was carefully archived. Let us open the doors to that voluminous vault of events, which is history, and take a look at November 25.
In 1867 - Alfred Nobel patents dynamite. Dynamite was created as a way of making the use of Nitroglycerin safer by absorbing the dangerous liquid in absorbent mediums, such as some clays. Novel's brother died in a nitroglycerin accident.
In 1884 - John B Meyenberg patents evaporated milk, which allowed milk to be condensed to preserve it, without the sugar used in Sweetened Condensed Milk.
In 1919 - WTAW of College Station, Tx, broadcast the first radio football play-by-play.
In 1940 - Cartoon character Woody Woodpecker first appeared in the cartoon, 'Knock Knock'. Woody was voiced by Mel Blanc, then Ben Hardaway and later by Grace Stafford, wife of Walter Lantz.

Calendars and one of four months with the length of 30 days. November was
the ninth month of the ancient Roman calendar. November retained its name
(from the Latin novem meaning 'nine') when January and February were added
to the Roman calendar.
'
'November is a month of spring in the Southern Hemisphere and autumn in
the Northern Hemisphere. Therefore, November in the Southern Hemisphere
is the seasonal equivalent of May in the Northern Hemisphere and vice
