Zall's Second Law says: 'How long a minute is, depends on which side of the bathroom door you're on.' We are lucky, we have no urgency with our time related task, since it deals with the past. With posture erect and with no grimace on our face, let's look at November 5 in the past.
In 1872, In defiance of the law, suffragist Susan B. Anthony votes for the first time, and is later fined $100. She did not pay the fine and no additional legal action was taken. In 1895, George B. Selden is granted the first U.S. patent for an automobile. His patent for his engine was quickly bought up and until Henry Ford designed his own engine, the group of investors that bought Shelden's engine patent had a monopoly on car manufacture in the US.
In 1925 - Secret agent Sidney Reilly, the first 'super-spy' of the 20th century, is executed by the OGPU, the secret police of the Soviet Union. He was known as the 'Ace of Spies' and it was mostly on his life that the character James Bond was based.
