National Boston Cream Pie Day: More
Tomorrow's food holiday will be 'National Boston Cream Pie Day'. This vanilla custard filled, two layer, .sponge cake, not pie, was created for the first time in 1851 at the Parker House Hotel, (I believe it was in the kitchen). It may not be the favorite slapstick tossing pie, but there is that custard. I would purchase a Gallagher, front row, proof clear plastic cover, just in case. You may want to do a quick duck-and-cover, if you see three guys (one bald, one with a frizzy Afro and the
other with a kitchen bowl haircut) with pies of any kind.
Let me say, right off, that the next holiday has nothing to do with animal awareness or a social network spy app, placed there by me long ago, so as to gain your confidence . Tomorrow will be 'National Mole Day'. This mole is a unit of mass (used in Chemistry), defined to be 6.022 x 10 to the 23 molecules, atoms, or some other unit. So at exactly 6:02 AM and 6:02 PM on 10/23 you can do whatever you think appropriate to celebrate.
An entertainment holiday tomorrow will be 'National TV Talk Show Host Day': Celebrated on Johnny Carson’s birthday.
Tomorrow we celebrate the next advance from the transistor radio and the WalkMan. Tomorrow will be 'iPod Day'. This celebrates the day in 2001, that the first one was unveiled.
We have a health/medical related awareness day tomorrow 'National Pharmacy Technician Day'. This week is also American Pharmacy Week'.
Seneca once said 'Time heals what reason cannot.'. We can only deal with the now, plan for the future and remember the past. Let us see if remembering October 23, in the past, will give us any insight, any medicine to heal the now and prevent future mishap.
