National Apple Betty Day : More
Crustless apple pie
Tomorrow's food holiday will be 'National Apple Betty Day', which is a crustless apple pie. Put sweeten crumbs between the layers of apples and you have Apple Brown Betty.
Tomorrow is 'National Do Something Nice Day'. If you want to do something nice, send me an Apple Betty. I guess any unselfish, anonymous nice deed done to anyone will do, but I am really looking forward to that pie. I have the ice cream topper waiting.
Well, 'World Teachers' Day'. is tomorrow, on Sunday. No chance to bring and apple (Apple Betty's are too messy to carry in a backpack) or hug the teacher. I guess UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), in 1994, should have made it on something like the first Monday of a week, but the idea is still a good one. It commemorates teachers’ organizations worldwide. I can remember quite a few teachers that meant a lot to me.
Tomorrow is 'Change A Light Day'. A light bulb, that is. It promotes the new bulbs as an energy savings. I believe they do so and they burn cooler, but I'm not sure about putting all that mercury in the land fills (very few people will dispose of them properly) and they seem to not last as long as the incandescent ones. I guess the LED's ones are going to be the answer, when they come down in price.
Tomorrow being the first Sunday in October, it will be 'Country Inn Bed and Breakfast Day'.
Getaway to some small out of the way place and take it easy.
Tomorrow, consider looking on everyone of all ages as equal, or you will not be honoring
'Intergeneration Day'. Now a monthly event. A time to intentionally connect all ages worldwide.
William Shakespeare once said: "Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, Creeps in this petty pace from day to day'. Before tomorrow creeps up on us, and it is another day, let us look at October 5 in the past:
In 1921, The World Series is broadcast on the radio for the first time.
In 1962, The first James Bond movie 'Dr. No', is released.
In 1969, The British TV show 'Monty Python's Flying Circus' airs on BBC One.
In 1970 - PBS, the Public Broadcasting Company, is founded.

October is:
October origin (from Wikipedia): October is the tenth month of the year
in the Julian and Gregorian Calendars and one of seven months with a
length of 31 days. The eighth month in the old Roman calendar, October
retained its name (from the Greek meaning 'eight') after January
and February were inserted into the calendar that had originally been
created by the Romans.
"
October is commonly associated with the season of autumn in the Northern
hemisphere and spring in the Southern hemisphere, where it is the seasonal
equivalent to April in the Northern hemisphere and vice versa.
