National Creamsicle Day: More
I think the hot days of summer have curtailed the holiday creators and men of history. We have a small offering for tomorrow.
We do have one seasonal food holiday for tomorrow 'National Creamsicle Day'. I believe I mentioned before that this was my favorite treat after a swim at the Galena Park swimming pool when I was young. It seemed to get rid of, or at least, mask all the chlorine taste in my mouth from the pool water. It could be purchased from a little food snack bar next to the pool.
If you go to the pool tomorrow, don't forget to take Lizzy with you. No, not your Model T, but your pet. Tomorrow will be 'National Lizard Day'. Take my word for it. This monster animation thing won't last and you may want to dress her up with some of the latest fins and dorsal sails, for any movie audition that may come up. And let's not forget to take a nice jar of dead flies with you. You want to have something for her to eat while you are having your ice cream. You know it is hard to refuse her when s
he looks up at you with those big brown bulgy eyes.
On a serious note. Tomorrow will be 'National Navajo Code Talkers Day'. Thank you guys.

August is:
August origin (from Wikipedia): Originally named Sextili (Latin), because it was the sixth month in the original ten-month Roman calendar: under Romulus in 753 BC, when March was the first month of the year.
"About 700 BC it became the eighth month when January and February were added to the year before March by King Numa Pompilius, who also gave it 29 days. Julius Caesar added two days when he created the Julian calendar in 45 BC giving it its modern length of 31 days. In 8 BC it was renamed in honor of Augustus
According to a Senatus consultum quoted by Macrobius, he chose this month because it was the time of several of his great triumphs, including the conquest of Egypt.
