National Cheesecake Day: More
Throw away the calorie counters. Tomorrow will be 'National Cheesecake Day'. Head out for the Cheesecake Factory, your nearest bakery or even Gran ma's kitchen for a large slice. I love the stuff. I even like the Jello Cheesecake version. When I'm hungry, I'm not proud.
Let us not be selfish. Save a piece of cheesecake for others, so you can celebrate 'International Day of Friendship' with the gift everyone understands, food.
One of the special invites should be a relative. If I said it is going to be 'Father-in-Law Day', does that give you a hint?
Make sure you wash your hands after dessert. We don't want to have sticky hands. After dinner, I'm sure you will want to sit back and consider 'Paperback Book Day'. You remember books, don't you. They are the portable rectangles that serve up text on demand, but don't require a battery.
If your book is an almanac, you might discover that on July 30 1965, the Social Security Act of 1965 became law and established Medicare and Medicaid.
If you, instead picked up an old car magazine (you know the one that your wife has been trying to give to the scrap paper drive for years now, but you keep hiding under the cushion), you might see the announcement on July 30 2003, that the last 'old style' Volkswagen Beetle was produced in Mexico.
If your thoughts go to unearthly autos, you might like to remember that on July 30 1971, the Apollo 15 Mission landed on the Moon with the first Lunar Rover.

to that, it was called Quintilis. It is, on average, the warmest month in
most of the Northern hemisphere (where it is the second month of summer)

is the second month of winter). The second half of the year commences in

January in the Northern hemisphere."
