National Creme Brulee Day: More
Tomorrow will be ' National .Creme Brulee Day'.
We continue to honor family members this month. July 27 will be 'Parents' Day'. Parents who are also Aunts are doubly lucky. It will be 'Auntie's Day' also.
Let's team up some good aerobic exercise with a balancing act and celebrate 'Walk on Stilts Day'. Some of us kids used to make our own with 2x2 boards and a wedge nailed on. They didn't last long, but it was fun while it held together.
Now, while you are out for that elevating walk, why not satisfy two more meaningful holidays. Well, holidays anyway. 'Take Your Houseplant For A Walk Day' and 'Take Your Pants For A Walk Day'. Sun screen is optional, for the plant only.
If while you are out walking and you meet a body (coming thro' the rye or wheat or whatever), they are probably on their way to a Highland dance. July 27 is 'Bagpipe Appreciation Day'. If your path takes you by the Loch, don't worry, on July 27 2003 the BBC, after several days of underwater observations, declares that there is no 'Loch Ness Monster'. I would, however cover all bases, by taking a sacrificial gift of Haggis, that could be thrown to her, as you run in the other direction.
Transportation and communications have been the 'way-back' news of late. Tomorrow
in 1866, the first permanent transatlantic telegraph cable was laid. In 1949 the first jet airliner test flight was made. It was the British Comet.
We honor 'National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day ' tomorrow.
On the lighter side. In 1940 the first Bugs Bunny cartoon was released, 'A Wild Hare'.
We seem to be celebrating just about everything. I'm still waiting for 'Frivolous Social Media Poste

July origin (from Wikipedia): Named by the Roman Senate in honor of Julius Caesar.

and August) in the Julian and Gregorian Calendars and one of seven months
with the length of 31 days. It was named by the Roman Senate in honor of
the Roman general, Julius Caesar, it being the month of his birth. Prior
to that, it was called Quintilis. It is, on average, the warmest month in
most of the Northern hemisphere (where it is the second month of summer)
and the coldest month in much of the Southern hemisphere (where it
is the second month of winter). The second half of the year commences in
July. In the Southern hemisphere, July is the seasonal equivalent of
January in the Northern hemisphere."
