National Ice Cream Day: More
Third Sunday in July, by Presidential proclamation.
You've been waiting for this one. 'National Ice Cream Day'. Celebrated on the third Sunday in July, by Presidential proclamation. What can I say, but scoop-up and dig-in.
If you clean your plate, you can also celebrate 'National Lollipop Day'. Grab that pop and run like crazy or you may have to wash the dishes. The thing I can't understand is why you never see a licorice pop. We have beans, ropes, drops and even gum (Black Jack), why not pops?
If you are not quite sure if you can sneak out of the house without doing your chores, you won't need a mind reader or crystal ball. Just consult your eatable after dinner prognosticator and celebrate 'Fortune Cookie Day'. A strictly American concept and called "Genuine American Fortune Cookies' in China. And let's find another way to open those cellophane wrappers. Dentist say that one of the main reasons they see patients with a chipped front tooth, is due to opening those packages by using the front teeth. .
Tomorrow in history was a good day for NASA. Of course we celebrate the
'Apollo 11' landing on the moon' on July 20 1969. Also on July 20 1976, 'Viking 1' lands on Mars. There were other landers, but this was the first US Mars probe to land and successfully perform it's mission.
It will be easy to find an occasion to celebrate the moon landing. Here are just two recognize holidays that support it: 'Space Exploration Day' and 'Moon Day'.
If you can't take a worthwhile step for man, or a leap for mankind, just try getting a bunch of people for 'World Jump Day'. If you can get enough people jumping at the same time, you may be able to change the rotation of the Earth, Or, maybe not.
If you aren't a high-flyer, be thankful for the first patent for the worlds first internal combustion engine, issued in France in 1807.
That first internal combustion engine was on a motorboat. But, don't let that stop you from celebrating what was to come. Proudly motor down main street and support
'Ugly Truck Day'
